Around 2019, Playtech decided to throw their hat in the ring when it comes to live casino games. Quantum Roulette was one of the flagship names – a world-class online roulette game with a bit of a twist. It’s the answer to Evolution’s Lightning Roulette, and this Quantum Roulette review will determine if it holds up.

Don’t let the name confuse or intimidate you – unlike Quantum Physics, Playtech’s 2019 live roulette edition can be played even by those who lack the knowledge of the basic principles of quantum mechanics. The only upgrades are the comparatively higher payouts and flashy-looking studio that ups the Ante for other developers.
Streamed from a state-of-the-art studio and hosted by a presenter, Quantum Roulette goes beyond a traditional table, creating an immersive ambiance that will keep the players on their toes. The concept is not entirely new (Evolution’s Lightning Roulette is quite similar), but the futuristic, sci-fi aesthetic is what distinguishes Playtech’s edition and gives it a competitive edge.
Though Quantum Roulette is hosted by a presenter, the wheel itself functions like in auto-roulette. The presenters are there to add to the spectacle. Overall, the game was designed for a fairly casual experience – entertainment is more important than profitability.
Live Quantum Roulette is a single-zero variant with an automated roulette wheel and virtual table interface. The presenter’s only task is to host the session and keep the players engaged, as opposed to the actual dealers who take active participation in the game, by setting the wheel in motion.
After you open up the game to play Quantum Roulette for real money, you’ll have to wait for betting time to begin. Thankfully, live roulette games don’t have limited seating, and the stream is open 24/7. This means that you can enjoy the game whenever you want, wherever you want. This includes Quantum Roulette on mobile and tablets.
When betting time begins, the presenter will notify you and you can start placing your bets. The players will have 20 seconds to place the bets and before the session starts. You can place any number of wagers on the standard table or racetrack view. This extends to inside and outside bets, single numbers, and multiple wagers.
After that, up to 5 numbers will be randomly selected and multiplied. This is the main Quantum Roulette special feature and will be described in detail further in this review. These multipliers can be further improved by the Quantum Boost and Quantum Leap bonuses. All are chosen at random, though, so they can’t affect your decisions.
Once all of this is over, the wheel spins and you’ll see the results shortly thereafter. If your prediction was correct, you win!
Much like its main competitor, the Quantum Roulette payout table is identical to almost any other European roulette wheel. There is only one major difference – straight-up bets pay 29:1 instead of the usual 35:1. This was done to compensate for the house’s losses due to the multipliers. The multipliers can only apply to straight-up bets, so it makes sense that the bets themselves pay less.
Bets | Covers | Pays | |
---|---|---|---|
Inside Bets | |||
Straight Up | 1 number | 29:1 - 499:1 | |
Split | 2 numbers | 17:1 | |
Street | 3 Numbers | 11:1 | |
Corner | 4 numbers | 8:1 | |
Line | 6 numbers | 5:1 | |
Outside Bets | |||
Dozen/Column | 12 numbers | 2:1 | |
Red/Black | 18 numbers | 1:1 | |
Even/Odd | 18 numbers | 1:1 | |
Low/Huigh | 18 numbers | 1:1 |
Just remember a few things about the multipliers. First of all, the multiplier replaces the initial payout. A 50x multiplier pays 50 times your bet, not 50 x 29:1. Secondly, the stake is not included in the 50x multiplier, which means the returns are actually 49:1.
