Knockout Baccarat: Our Review, How and Where to Play!DISCLOSURE

Ezugi by Ezugi

Knockout Baccarat is a live dealer online casino baccarat game that features a unique set of side betting options. Made and released by Ezugi in 2023, it boasts an RTP of 98.94%, assuming you’re playing optimally, with a minimum bet of $1 and a $2,000 maximum wager. Available on desktop and mobile, Knockout Baccarat introduces some interesting additions without moving too far away from classic baccarat.

The basic rule set of baccarat is a great platform for introducing new and unique side bets and features. Ezugi already streams multiple variants of live baccarat, which is just one reflection of their recent focus on the Asian market. Nevertheless, we haven’t seen these side bets before, so baccarat fans should take note of this recent release.

Let’s start by asking a basic question – what is Knockout Baccarat?

In short, it’s a variant of the classic casino table game with a new set of side bets. These exciting wagers are all about predicting not just whether the Player or Banker will win, but also the point difference between the two hands.

Side bets in baccarat are nothing new, of course, and Ezugi already has a robust offer of different variants. For example, this provider already offers unique variants such as Super 6 Baccarat and Dragon Bonus Baccarat.

However, Knockout Baccarat is a highly dynamic variant that introduces seven side bets to the traditional Baccarat structure, making the game equally attractive both to players who do not like to digress from the conventional game of Baccarat and to those who need that extra element of risk.

This Knockout Baccarat review takes a close look at the rules, features, and gameplay of the game while focusing on the new side bets.

How to Play Knockout Baccarat

Our overview of Knockout Baccarat rules will assume that you’re already familiar with the basics of baccarat. If not, check out our beginner’s guide to the game and our basic strategy tips.

Anyway, this table uses eight standard decks of 52 cards. The two main bets work as they usually do, with players predicting which of the two hands will have a score total closer to 9. The rules surrounding third card drawing and game results are all standard for casino baccarat.

No surprises there – as we noted previously, this variant is all about the interesting side bets.

Side Bets

Let’s start with the least interesting wagering option – Player and Banker Natural. These are fairly common baccarat side bets whose goal is to predict that the relevant hand will win with a Natural. This means that the card pile has to draw a total of 8 or 9 without drawing a third card. These two bets are okay if you’re looking for something highly volatile, but the huge house advantage prevents them from being truly useful.

This brings us to the titular Knockout side bets. The goal here is to predict the winning hand’s point total. There are five options in total, and none of them are tied to Player or Banker. In other words, it doesn’t matter which side wins for this side bet. As long as you get the total points of the winning hand right, you’ll win.

Winning Total side bet options include:

  • Winning Total of 1, 2, 3, or 4
  • Winning Total of 5 or 6
  • Winning Total of 7
  • Winning Total of 8
  • Winning Total of 9

Each of these options offers a different prize based on its probability of success. They also have different RTP values. You can find more details in the Payout section of this review.

Also, if you have active Winning Total side bets and the round ends in a tie, the bet is considered a push. This means that your full stake is returned to you.

Strategy Tips
  • 1
The two main bets are the most profitable, as always. As such, you can use standard baccarat strategies to your advantage
  • 2
The Tie and Natural Win bets are best avoided due to their low RTP
  • 3
Conversely, if you’re betting on the Winning Total, we suggest picking either 7 or 9. These two options have half the house edge of 5, 6, and 8. The 1-4 option is also viable, but to a lesser degree

Payouts & RTP

You can find the complete list of all bets in Knockout Baccarat in the table below. The table also includes the payouts for each type of wager as well as the RTP you get by betting on it.

Most of these figures are industry-standard live baccarat. This includes the 5% commission from all Banker bets, which is there because Banker is traditionally the strongest bet in the game.

Bet Payout RTP
Ezugi Knockout Baccarat Payouts
Player 1:1 98.76%
Banker 1:1 98.94%
Tie 8:1 85.64%
Player/Banker Natural Win 4:1 94.72%
Winning Total of 1, 2, 3, or 4 8:1 96.21%
Winning Total of 5 or 6 4:1 94.89%
Winning Total of 7 5:1 97.14%
Winning Total of 8 3,3:1 94.50%
Winning Total of 9 3:1 97.13%

Refer to the table to figure out which bets you want to use. As always, repeatedly betting on the Banker is arguably the best option. However, our strategy also included regular bets on Winning Total of 7 or Winning Total of 9 because these two options also have a decently narrow house edge.

Special Features

Ezugi games almost always have the same interface, so you’ll quickly find your bearings if you have experience with this company’s games. It’s a straightforward UI that still allows you a level of customization. You can find various options and sliders in the settings menu, such as audio/video controls and Language alternatives. You can find all of these features in the top right corner, alongside a Live Chat and built-in help section.

Beyond that, Knockout Baccarat also comes equipped with three types of baccarat roadmaps. These are used to keep track of round results, and they’re designed to highlight trends. Hot/cold numbers aren’t a basis for a good baccarat strategy, but it’s still a useful feature to have.

Languages

  • Only a single Knockout Baccarat Live table is currently available, and it’s presented entirely in English
  • The text language in the interface can be changed to English, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Korean, Chinese, Bulgarian, Hindi, Italian, Danish, French, Arabic, Malay, Dutch, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Romanian, Czech, Greek, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Lithuanian, Latvian, or Finnish

Our Verdict of Live Knockout Baccarat

Those who are ready to take the traditional game of Baccarat to the next level will have a blast with Live Knockout Baccarat and the betting potential it offers. With 7 extra bets, Knockout Baccarat gives the players a unique opportunity to moderately increase the risk without referring them to the unfavourable Tie bet; the payout for the 1-2-3-4 is almost the same as the payout rate for the Tie wager but the odds are much more promising.

Ezugi Knockout Baccarat avoids the usual pitfalls of baccarat side bets by actually having serviceable RTP. Of course, this varies from bet to bet, which is why you should familiarize yourself with the paytable below.

We have very few grips about the game beyond the unbalanced nature of the Winning Totals options. Ezugi is already an expert at making top-tier baccarat, so this release is quite strong as well.
