Funky Time is a live online casino game developed and launched by Evolution in 2023. It was imagined as a follow-up to Crazy Time, one of the most successful live dealer games to date. This means that it uses a large money wheel, similar to the one present in TV game shows like Wheel of Fortune. However, the game’s uniqueness lies in its disco-inspired visuals, creative special betting features, and high-quality presentation.
Funky Time Stats
To play Funky Time, all you have to do is predict which section of the wheel will land on the pointer at the top. Our review explains all of that in detail.
The table below explains pretty much everything you need to know. Each bet appears on a certain number of segments. The more instances of a certain segment there are, the likelier you are to win the related bet. If you’re not quite sure about how that works, we highly recommend that you check out our guide to expected value in gambling.
The Numbers and Letters bets are pretty straightforward. That’s why we will focus on the four special bets:
- Bar
- Stayin’ Alive
- Disco
- VIP Disco
Bar
The Bar minigame in Funky Time is the first instance of interactivity in this game. If you make a Bar bet and the pointer lands on the relevant segment of the wheel, you are taken to a new screen with a robot bartended standing behind a bar.
The funky little robot will offer you a choice of three cocktails. Your task is to pick one of the cocktails, which will later determine the reward you receive. At this point, you’re flying blind – you have no idea which cocktail will offer which rewards, so just follow your gut.
The bot will then fill each of these glasses with multipliers ranging from 2x to 20x. Some will be better, others will be worse. You’re hoping that you picked a more rewarding option.
Additionally, a small slot machine behind your mechanic barman will spin for a chance to boost winnings even further. The slots will reveal another additional multiplier which is then applied to one of the three glasses.
A strong casino with a great range of live dealer tables, though it doesn’t really cater to live casino fans. However, the strong reputation, support, and game portfolio make it stand a cut above most.

Stayin’ Alive
Few songs from the 70s are quite as iconic as the Bee Gees’ Stayin’ Alive from 1977. This relatively complex bonus round is a love letter to the disco giants.
The Stayin’ Alive bonus round in Funky Time is a bit more involved than the Bar, so we’ll go through it step by step.
Stayin’ Alive appears only twice on the wheel. If you make the relevant bet and win, you’ll be part of the feature. Conceptually, the round is all about “staying alive” for as long as possible. The longer you stick around, the more you stand to win.
- Pick one of the three ladders available – Green, Purple, or Orange. If you don’t choose in time, you’ll automatically pick one of the three.
- A ball-drawing drum machine is used to determine the results of the game, like the one used in bingo.
- If the machine draws a Green, Orange, or Pink ball, the corresponding ladder advances one level.
- Alternatively, the ladders progress two steps if the corresponding 2 Step ball is drawn.
- If the machine draws a black STOP ball, all participating players lose a single life.
- The game ends once four STOP balls have been drawn, which means you lost all your lives.
- You receive a payout based on how far you advanced up the ladder.
The rewards range from 5x on Level 1 to 1,000x on Level 20. Additionally, all rewards can be multiplied by Funky Time’s random multipliers.

Disco
Although Disco is arguably the most exciting among Funky Time special bets, it’s difficult to visualize unless you experience it. Still, bear with us as we explain the mechanics.
Once the feature kicks off, you are taken to a virtual dance floor. The lit-up squares are filled with multipliers and prizes for you to collect.
Well, you won’t do the collecting yourself. Mr Funky will do that for you. He’s the game’s mascot that looks like he boogied straight out of Saturday Night Fever. His job is to dance along the floor for as long as possible and collect as many prizes as he can manage.
Mechanically, this minigame uses a special small wheel. It’s marked with four directions – left, right, up, and down. The presenter spins this wheel to determine which direction Mr Funky will move to.
The Funky Time Disco continues until he waltzes off the floor. There are 37 tiles in total, sprinkled with all sorts of prizes and rewards. Generally, the closer a tile is to the edge, the better its reward. Two types of rewards are available:
- Regular multipliers, which are added together as the main prize. Each tile contains a multiplier ranging from 1 to 100x by default.
- Floor multipliers that appear as “2x”. These will double the reward of five random multipliers already present on the floor.
VIP Disco
VIP Disco in Funky Time is essentially a suped-up version of the Disco. It fundamentally works the same as Disco but with a few improvements.
- The dance floor is bigger, consisting of 63 tiles instead of 37.
- The multipliers range from 1x to 500x.
Hands-down one of the best live casino sites currently active. Incredible selection of games, a dedicated app, and good payment terms all help 20Bet stand out as an excellent operator.
