How to Play: Live Teen Patti Tutorial

There is nothing out of the ordinary concerning how a round of Teen Patti starts, so if you have ever played poker before, any card game really, you should have no problems starting off decently.

A game of Teen Patti accommodated up to 6 players, but the least number of participants can be three, excluding the live dealer. Only one deck of cards is used – 52 regular cards, without the Jokers. The round begins with placing wagers and then the croupier will proceed to deal three cards to each player, following a counterclockwise direction.

However, it’s important to remember that if you play Teen Patti online, you’re not playing the traditional game. Live online casinos have adapted the game to fit the new format. This means that all players at a table share a single hand, and they’re playing against the dealer instead of each other.

Instead of choosing to play blind or not, the rules state that the dealer has to qualify. Again, this goes back to how 3 Card Poker works.

However, the goal of Teen Patti is still the same. The game is all about making simplified poker hands, and comparing the dealer’s hand vs. the player’s hand. The stronger hand wins, as per the usual poker hand rankings.

How to Play Teen Patti Online – Step by Step Guide

1. Find a Teen Patti table at a live dealer casino and wait for the betting period between rounds.
2. Place an Ante bet if you want to participate using the chips on the game’s interface. If the table you chose offers any Teen Patti side bets, now is the time to play them.
3. The dealer will place 3 cards on the player side of the table, face up. Also, they will place 3 cards on the dealer side of the table, face down.
4. Look at your cards and consider whether to Fold or Play. Folding means you lose the Ante bet, but protect yourself from any further losses.
5. The Play bet uses the same stake as the Ante bet. Essentially, you’re doubling your stake if you decide to keep playing.
6. Once the Play bet is confirmed, the three cards of the dealer’s hand are revealed.
7. Before the game proceeds, the dealer’s hand needs at least a Queen high card hand to Qualify.
8. If the dealer fails to qualify, the Ante bet wins automatically. Any Play bets push, which means your Play stake is returned to you.
9. If the dealer qualifies, the player’s hand is compared against the dealer’s. The stronger hand wins, as per the hand rankings described below.
10.  If the player hand is stronger, you win both Ante and Play bets. If the dealer hand is stronger, you lose both. If the two hands are tied, both bets push.

1. Straight flush – 3 consecutive cards of the same suit
2. Three of a kind – 3 of the same cards, same rank. The best trio is 3 Aces, whereas 3 deuces are the lowest trio.
3. Straight – 3 consecutive cards but they don’t need to be of the same suit
4. Flush – 3 cards of the same suit
5. Pair – 2 cards of the same rank
6. High Card – no combinations, the highest card is the hand’s value
