At first glance, Bar Roulette seems like it’s more about looks than actual substance. It appears to be a straightforward competitor to other roulette tables with random multipliers, most notably mega-successful titles such as Lightning Roulette, Quantum Roulette, or Mega Fire Blaze Roulette. This concept has been around for years, and Bar Roulette seems like just another direct competitor to a fun but stale idea, right?

Well, yes and no. It’s true that the idea behind this game is not exactly original. Pretty much every live casino software provider has some sort of variation on the same idea these days. It’s tried, it’s true, but it’s not as exciting as it used to be.

While the core idea may not be original, the way Winfinity executed it definitely is. Essentially, they took several different levels of game volatility and rolled them up into one game. Then, they just let the player pick whichever option suits them on the fly. The result is a highly customizable live roulette experience that can cater to different types of players depending on what they want to do.

It’s a great all-around idea. So much so that we’re wondering how no one thought of it before. Still, we have to say that the game comes with certain trade-offs that not everyone will like – mostly in the RTP department.

For now, we’ll take a moment to praise the graphics and overall presentation of Bar Roulette. As the name implies, the studio looks like a sort of casino bar with fancy lighting and a generally inviting atmosphere. Moreover, the multiple camera angles and high video quality give the whole game a high-end sheen that can rival even the best in the business. Even if you don’t really care about the multiplier features and just want to use Bar Roulette as a classic table, it’s still a great pick precisely because if its great looks.

How to Play Bar Roulette

The core gameplay is pretty much identical to most other roulette games. If you need a tutorial on the basics, you can check out our roulette guide here.

It uses a standard European-style wheel with a single zero pocket. That’s a good thing, because European-style wheels are superior to the American double-zero variant.

Everything else should be familiar to anyone with even the least bit of experience. You select the size of your stake, click or tap on the betting position you want, and hit ‘confirm’. Your bets will be active in the next round.

All standard roulette bets are available, so there are no surprises there. You can also access the racetrack view if you want to place sector bets and similar combination wagers.

The Winfinity interface also offers a few interesting features that can make this process quicker and easier. First of all, you can mark any bet or combination of bets as a favorite. This allows you to access those same wagers with a single click.

Also, you can switch between three different betting modes – regular, Straight-up, and Full Complete. The regular option is the one most people are used to, where clicking on certain table positions will place the corresponding bet. Straight-Up mode places separate Straight-Up bets on every selected position. For example, selecting a Corner bet using this mode will place four Straight Up bets on the four selected numbers.

Full Complete places a Full Complete bet on any selected number. Full Complete bets include all inside bets which feature a specific number.

Multiplier Modes

If you want to actually access Bar Roulette’s multipliers, you have to manually enable them them. Start by clicking on the ‘Free Bonus’ button on the right side of the screen.

Essentially, these modes add random multipliers to single-number bets, widely known as Straight-Up bets.

This means that a number of numbers are randomly selected before the dealer spins the wheel. Each of these numbers is randomly awarded a multiplier which can range from 50x to a certain maximum, as decided by the mode you selected. If you win a Straight Up bet on a number that is assigned a multiplier, your stake is multiplied by that number instead of the usual Straight-Up payout.

However, the base payout of all Straight-up is also reduced to compensate. This means that you’ll win less than the standard 35:1 if you win the bet but no multiplier is assigned to your chosen number. As a result, these modes are much more volatile than standard roulette.

There are four modes to choose from:

  • 1-5 numbers are randomly selected for multipliers up to 150x. Base payouts for Straight-Up bets are reduced to 29:1.
  • 3-8 numbers are randomly selected for multipliers up to 300x. Base payouts for Straight-Up bets are reduced to 23:1.
  • 5-15 numbers are randomly selected for multipliers up to 500x. Base payouts for Straight-Up bets are reduced to 17:1.
  • 5-20 numbers are randomly selected for multipliers up to 2,000x. Base payouts for Straight-Up bets are reduced to 8:1.

If you don’t pick any of these modes, Bar Roulette uses standard Roulette rules and payouts instead. Also, any type of wager other than Straight-Up is completely unaffected regardless of which mode you’re playing.

    Bar Roulette Strategy Tips

Although the high-risk modes of Bar Roulette sound attractive, we don't recommend picking the 500x and 2,000x variants. They lower the RTP way too much.
    • 2
That said, the 150x and 300x models are actually pretty solid compared to most of the competition. Remember - even the acclaimed Lightning Roulette offers only 97.10% RTP on Straight Up bets.

    Payouts & RTP

As you’ve probably gathered by now, most of this game’s paytable lines up with the industry standard. The only exceptions are Straight-up wagers, and only when you switch on one of the four multiplier modes.

We’ve included all four modes on the paytable below, as well as all of the other Bar Roulette payouts.

With all of the above in mind, the RTP of Bar Roulette is easily one of the biggest downsides of the game. In short, the higher the potential multipliers, the lower the game’s RTP. It’s a shame, especially considering many competing titles managed to implement the multipliers without taking a big cut to the average return-to-player rate. For example, Playtech’s Jer Set Racing Roulette boasts a rate of 97.29% despite offering payouts of up to 2,500x, which is why it’s one of our favorite games of this type.

The RTP rate for the different game modes is as follows:

    • No multipliers – 97.30%
    • 150x max multiplier – 97.20%
    • 300x max multiplier -97.17%
    • 500x max multiplier – 97.09%
    • 2,000x max multiplier – 96.89%

    Our Verdict

Bar Roulette is a masterclass on how to make a great live casino roulette game on a technical level. It looks great, plays great, and offers a lot of quality-of-life features that help it stand above most of the competition in that regard.

The crucial multiplier features are a great example of what we’re talking about. Adding them as a sort of UI element instead of a key game feature is a solid idea for anyone who just wants to add a bit of spice to their game. Sure, the experience is not as flashy or pompous as something like Lightning Roulette which puts the multipliers center stage. However, the advantage is the huge level of customization it allows for. It makes Bar Roulette incredibly versatile simply because players can tailor the game’s math model to their own needs and wants.

However, that exact math model is also Bar Roulette’s biggest problem. The excitement we felt for that 2,000x multiplier faded pretty quickly when we realized we had to endure a noticeable cut to the game’s RTP. Don’t get us wrong – lowering the base payouts of straight-up bets is perfectly reasonable, and it’s intrinsic to this style of roulette. However, the way that Winfinity balanced the base payouts and potential multipliers leaves something to be desired.

It’s a shame, too, considering how close this game comes to being the best-in-class example of live roulette with multipliers. As it stands, Bar Roulette excels in user experience and customization but disappoints when it comes to the all-important RTP.
