Gold Vault Roulette is an online live roulette game created and launched by Evolution in 2023. Featuring stackable multipliers and a Game Show-like presentation, it was intended as a sequel or re-imagining of the Gold Bar Roulette game from 2022. Evolution is no stranger to the idea of live dealer roulette games with multipliers. In fact, some might call this company the leading provider of such titles. After all, Lightning Roulette is basically a staple game at this point, winning the hearts of thousands of players worldwide. It’s a simple yet exciting formula that many of Evolution’s competitors have emulated since.
Additionally, Evo itself imagined new approaches to the whole concept over the years. One of the more recent examples is 2022’s Gold Bar Roulette – a game we enjoyed thoroughly even though it failed to really captivate audiences. It was a less volatile version of roulette game shows that spread its features over multiple rounds. Even though its maximum reward was never as striking as in Lightning Roulette, it allowed players more control over their betting. This, in turn, meant that multipliers were a much more common sight. It was a great title, but one without a clear target audience.
With Gold Vault Roulette, Evolution went back to the drawing board. The core ideas are still the same – a roulette-based game show with comparatively less variance. As far as we can tell, even the studio is identical to Gold Bar Roulette, marking this release as more than a spiritual successor. However, the rules have been refreshed with new, more player-friendly features.

The base gameplay of Gold Vault Roulette should be familiar to anyone who knows the rules of roulette. If not, you can check out this guide to find out more.
It uses a European-style wheel with 36 standard numbers plus a single zero. As usual, you play by placing chips on whichever bet you wish to make. All standard roulette bets are available, plus sector bets, accessible via the race track view in the bottom right.
However, only Straight Up bets can be affected by the special Golden Bar feature. All other types of wagers work as they would on any other roulette table.
After the 12-second betting period is over, the presenter opens the safe behind them to reveal up to 20 Gold Bars. Every round comes with anywhere between 5 and 20 golden bars, which are randomly assigned to numbers on the betting table.
Every Gold Bar carries a 50x multiplier. Every bar is assigned to a randomly-selected number, replacing its base Straight Up payout with the multiplier. Think of it like this – Straight Up bets in Gold Vault roulette pay a base reward of 25x for every successful bet. If the number you’re betting on is assigned a Gold Bar, this increases to 50x.
Gold Bars can be stacked up to three times on a single number, further increasing any relevant payout. For instance, if a Gold Bar is assigned to the same number, any Straight Up bets on that number pay 100x instead of the usual reward.
Every round also has a chance to also introduce a special Super Gold Bar. Only a single Super Gold Bar can be assigned in a single round, and it does not appear in every round. If it does, however, it will be assigned to a single number on the table and increase its payout to 500x.
Importantly, Super Gold Bars cannot be stacked with standard Gold Bars.
Most of the bets available in this game have standard roulette payouts. The Gold Bar multipliers can only affect single-number bets – all other wagering options are unaffected. However, the base payout of Straight Up bets has been lowered to 24:1 to compensate for the multipliers. In other words, Straight Up bets with no Gold Bars assigned to them have a considerably lower payout than most other roulette games.

For most wagers, Gold Vault Roulette RTP is 97.30% – the standard payout rate for European roulette. No surprises there. However, Straight Up wagers have been altered through the Gold Bar mechanic, so their RTP is 97.03%.
This means that, if you want to participate in the exciting multipliers, you’ll have to accept lower long-term returns. Pretty much every game of this type has the same issue. If this deters you from playing Straight Up bets, we recommend finding a standard roulette table instead.

Unsurprisingly, Gold Vault Roulette comes with the usual assortment of Evolution’s bells and whistles. Most of these can be accessed through the menu at the top of the screen. For instance, the live chat function can be used to communicate with other players and presenters. This is where you’ll also find the options menu, which allows you to set audio levels and video quality, among other things.
As previously mentioned, you can also switch to the so-called racetrack view of the game. This allows you to place bets such as Orphelins, Tiers, Zero bets, Neightbors, and so on.
The acclaimed Evolution UI also allows you to set up Favorite bets and Autoplay. Favorite bets will memorize bet combinations and allow you to place them quickly and easily. Autoplay allows you to set up a bet or bet combination that will automatically be played in every round.
Gold Vault Roulette does not disappoint in terms of production quality or presentation. It’s a finely-crafted live casino product, as we’ve come to expect from Evolution.
As a game trying to innovate, however, it’s not terribly unique or original. This is basically a less volatile version of Lightning Roulette, and there’s not much more to it. The multipliers are more common than with most games of this type, but they’re also smaller on average. That’s pretty much the only difference separating this game from other roulette wheels with multiplier features.
To be frank, Gold Bar roulette approached things in a much more nuanced and interesting way. However, players weren’t too thrilled about it – Evo itself called it a “game no one asked for.” However, we’re not quite sure how many people asked for a less volatile and less visually interesting Lightning Roulette.
All in all, the biggest weakness of the Gold Vaulr Roulette live casino game is that we expected something a bit more interesting – something like the upcoming Red Door Roulette, perhaps. If we ignore our expectations, however, it’s a great title. Especially if you’re one of the (many) people who think Lightning Roulette multipliers simply don’t happen often enough.
