It was in early 2020 when Pragmatic Play was giving out hints about releasing a live casino game with multipliers.
Most reviewers expected roulette or blackjack but Pragmatic Play surprised everyone with a brand new release in the category of dice games. There have been Sic Bo live dealer variants before, of course. The first to come to mind have a lot of similarities to Pragmatic Play Mega Sic Bo. Namely Playtech Sic Bo Deluxe, and Evolution Gaming Super Sic Bo are quite popular live casino sic bo games with multipliers.
The game is what it is – it is a traditional Asian game and no developer has yet decided to introduce any radical changes to it. They usually keep the basic gameplay and add a bit of flavor. Clearly, the payout rates do not have to be the same if you compare versions from different providers.
Pragmatic Play’s latest addition to the live casino portfolio boasts superior video quality and advanced in-house video broadcasting. Mega Sic Bo is a modern take on an ancient game completely reliant on chance and the outcome of rolling three dice.
Once you launch the game at a Pragmatic Play live casino, you will enter a luxurious studio decorated with red and gold. Dealers will usually wear bright red dresses and red lipstick. As with most live dealer Sic Bo games, the studio is heavily influenced by Asian design.
They will sit in front of a round table with the dice shaker in the middle. The betting layout will be shown below the video stream. It may look a bit scary at first. However, as soon as you go over the bets once or twice you will feel more confident wagering. The objective, of course, is to predict what the outcome of the dice roll will be. A green bar will indicate the start of betting time. You will have 20 seconds to place your bet for the round.
The layout has 52 betting positions and presents players with the opportunity to bet on one or more positions at the same time. Players can choose to bet on the result of one die, two dice or all three dice. Some of the bets include totals, evens or odds, small or big, as well as doubles and triples. The more likely the bet, the lower the payout.

Mega Sic Bo payouts are mostly identical to other multiplier sic bo games such as Evolution Super Sic Bo. On one hand, this means the title is quite competitive. On the other, it means your choice of game is mostly cosmetic. Anyway, the payouts are slightly reduced compared to regular Sic Bo betting odds. However, this is counteracted by multipliers, which can greatly increase your winnings.

All of this adds up to a 97.22% RTP, which is also on par with the competition. However, this applies to the four even money bets (small/big and even/odd.) The other bets have varying house edge ratios, though 95.47% is by far the lowest. Also, each of these wagers can pay significantly more if multiplied.

The Pragmatic Play live casino game interface is the same across all their titles. This just makes it easier to navigate, but we’ll point out a few features. You’ll find the complete list of all Mega Sic Bo bets and mechanics in the help menu in the upper right corner. Right next to it are the live chat feed, the settings menu, and various view modes.
The multipliers, however, are the real main draw of this title. For each game, several betting options are randomly selected. These are referred to as the Mega Lucky Combinations. Their standard odds are replaced with Mega Multipliers that can go up to 1000x the initial bet. There can be up to 6 of these per round, as far as we can tell.
It’s important to understand that these multipliers are not the same for each bet. Firstly, Big/Small and Even/Odd bets cannot bet affected by them and always pay at odds of 1:1
Secondly, while 1,000x is technically the biggest payout, it can only appear for Triple bets. Essentially, the riskier the bet, the higher the multiplier can be. The final payout ends up being somewhere between the base odds and max multiplier. In the case of Triple bets, that would be between 150:1 and 999:1. Conversely, the lowest-paying wagers that can be multiplied are Combinations and 10 to 11 Totals. These pay between 5:1 and 24:1, and between 6:1 and 24:1, respectively.
Sic Bo is a rather suspenseful game as it is.
By adding Mega Multipliers, Pragmatic Play increases the suspension to such an extent that you will surely be on the edge of your seat throughout the gameplay.
However, it also remains true to the ancient source material – the good old game of Sic Bo.
Seeing the dice dance and waiting for the round to end to see what the Mega Multiplier is. Compared to the slow drip of even money Sic Bo bets, it’s all quite exciting. It can, of course, go the other way, and it often does.
