Teen Patti is not a gambling game one would normally encounter at a European land-based casino.
Most European gamblers won’t know what the game is about since it originates in India and its core audience resides in Southeast Asia. However, 3 Card Brag is another story. Most popular in the UK, this card game is well-known throughout the continent and you will be glad to know that Teen Patti isn’t very different from it. The game’s name translates to Three Cards, but some also call it Flush, 3 Card Poker or Flash.

The table is available 24/7 and there are side bets included apart from the main game betting possibilities. The traditional game of Teen Patti accommodates 3 to 6 players, but online you can play with an unlimited number of fellow gamblers at the same time.
Teen Patti is a game of comparing cards. The players compare their hand with the hand of the dealer and the better hand wins – the hand that ranks better.
Only one deck of cards is used, without Jokers. The cards are shuffled after each game round. Before any cards are dealt, players must place an Ante bet. Next, the dealer will deal three cards to the player facing up and three cards to his/her position, facing down. The player can now act – fold the hand or decide to play and place another bet which has double the stake of the ante. This is called the Play bet. The dealer’s cards are then revealed and the two hands are compared. The best 3-card poker hand wins.
Hands in Teen Patti rank the same way they do in Poker. This is what makes the game so beginner-friendly. If you ever came across casino poker before, you’ll understand how Teen Patti works.
Much like in casino poker, the dealer has to qualify for the Play bet. Essentially, they need a High Card with a Queen or better, or the Play bet pushes. However, if the dealer doesn’t qualify, you win the Ante bet. This means that there are several possible outcomes in Teen Patti Live. You’ll find them listed below, along with what each outcome means for your stake.

These are all industry standards for a game of 3-Card Poker. In other words, you won’t find better offers with the competition, as they all add up to a 96.63% RTP. The Pair or Better side bet is somewhat weaker at 95.51%. Sadly, the 3+3 Bonus wager suffers from the usual problem with side bets – a 91.44% RTP.

The game is certainly not short on features. The usual stuff like audio and video settings, language options, the help screen, and so on are in the upper right corner. The window to the left is there to rank any poker hands and offers a clearer view of the action.
However, most players are probably more interested in the side bets. There are two to choose from – Pair or Better and 3+3 Bonus.
Pair or Better is very straightforward. It basically rewards you based on how strong your hand is instead of the usual 1:1. However, as the name implies, you’ll need a Pair or better or the wager loses.
There’s a bit more to the 3+3 Bonus, but it comes down to a bigger version of the base game. Instead of looking at just 3 cards to form poker hands, this side bet considers all 6 cards on the table. If your cards and the dealer’s cards can combine into a 5-card poker hand, you win! However, because it uses a hand of 6 cards in total, you’ll need at least a Three of a Kind. As most experienced poker players will tell you, this doesn’t happen often enough for the side bet to be profitable.
Teen Patti in a live casino environment may seem strange at first, but the game is brilliantly adapted for the online market.
Ezugi did an excellent job with their version. Winnings are awarded according to a transparent paytable and players have the liberty to increase the excitement by betting on one of the two available side bets.
If you see the game as a simplified version of poker, which it is, you will have an easy time mastering its rules of gameplay.
That said, if there are any mechanical differences to 3-Card Poker, we’re not seeing them. As it stands, this title is merely three card poker for Indian casinos.
The game is still well-crafted and up to high Ezugi standards, of course. Still, if you’re looking to play Teen Patti online for real money, compare this game to 3-Card Poker before you make your decision.
