Lotus Speed Baccarat Live: Our Review, How and Where to Play

OnAir Entertainment by OnAir Entertainment

Lotus Speed Baccarat by OnAir Entertainment is a live dealer baccarat game released in 2023. It’s OnAir’s main baccarat table and offers largely standard gameplay with extended side betting options. It boasts an RTP of up to 98.94% with a minimum bet of $0.1 and a $5,000 maximum wager. The game is available on both desktop and mobile on all online casinos with OnAir Entertainment software.

Considering how essential baccarat is as a casino game, we’re surprised OnAir haven’t launched a table earlier. Nonetheless, it’s a premium-quality live casino baccarat game with industry-standard payouts. It also holds a few aces up its sleeve with interesting side bets and an excellent user interface. In this Lotus Speed Baccarat review we’ll see how it stacks up against other top baccarat games.

OnAir Entertainment popped onto the live casino scene a few yeras back and quickly became one of the more widespread software providers. Their partnership with Games Global gives their lineup of tables quite a reach. Of course, the fact that OnAir games look good enough to compete with industry old hats is a big plus, and they’ve quickly set about populating casino lobbies with various games.

As you might imagine, classic roulette and blackjack were among the first to be released. Although not particularly original or creative, these initial titles are necessary for any live casino provider. IF nothing else, they cover the basic offer for any casino lobby so OnAir can set about more innovative releases like Nexus Roulette or Travel Fever.

Live baccarat is also widely considered a fundamental table game for any self-respecting casino, so we’re not surprised to see OnAir live baccarat also hit the shelves. Despite the unique name Lotus Speed Baccarat, make no mistake – this is pretty much a standard live baccarat table with relatively few surprises. It benefits from the same excellent graphics and usability as all OnAir games, but it doesn’t really stand out from the crowd in terms of unique rules or features.

Still, it’s important to compare the game to other, similar titles from competing providers. That way you can ensure you’re getting the most bang for your buck. Our Lotus Speed Baccarat game review will tell you everything you need to know about the OnAir game and whether it’s any good.

How to Play Lotus Speed Baccarat Live

The OnAir baccarat game operates similarly to traditional baccarat tables, following standard rules. This makes the game quite beginner friendly, although it’s hard to say it really stands out from the crowd.

To place a bet, use the chips located at the bottom of the screen and select either Player, Banker, Tie, or any side wagers. Once you click on a betting position, your bet is immediately accepted and active without the need for confirmation. However, you can still cancel or modify your bet during the betting period.

The game consists of rounds with a 12-second betting period that repeats continuously. The objective, as with all baccarat games, is to predict whether the Player or Banker will draw cards with a total value closer to 9, or if the round will end in a Tie.

Each side draws two cards, with the option for a third card based on baccarat third card rules. Additionally, any hand total exceeding 10 only counts as its first digit. For example, a total value of 16 counts as a score of 6.

Once the card dealing stage is complete, the Player and Banker’s hands are compared. The total closer to 9 wins, and all players with the corresponding bet receive a payout as per the game’s paytable. Banker/Player wagers pay 1:1, while Tie bets offer 8:1.

Banker bets have a statistical advantage, which is why all banker bets come with a fixed 5% commission on all bets. Technically, it pays 0.95:1 instead of 1:1. This rule is present in pretty much all baccarat tables, so no surprises here.

Side Bets

As noted above, Lotus Speed Baccarat by OnAir Entertainment features six side bets in total. Some of them are quite similar to each other, but they’re also fairly popular baccarat side bets that are quite common in the industry.

  • Perfect Pair wins if the first two cards either Player or Banker draw have the same rank and suit. The payout is increased to a whopping 200:1 if both hands hit a Pair.
  • Player/Banker Pair bets only win if the selected card pile draws two cards of the same rank in its initial two-card draw.
  • Either Pair wins if either Player or Banker draws two cards of the same rank. It pays less than the other Pair bets, but it’s also the likeliest to win.
  • Player/Banker Bonus wins if the Player or Banker wins with a Natural hand and a point difference of at least 4. To clarify, a natural win occurs when one side wins with only two cards drawn and a total value of 8 or 9. This value has to be at least 4 points more than the other side for this bet to win, and the payout is increased for bigger margins.
Lotus Speed Baccarat Strategy Tips
  • 1
Statistically, the optimal way to play Baccarat is to repeatedly bet on Banker. However, you should feel free to play Banker bets whenever you feel its warrented. The two bets are different in terms of RTP, but not by much.
  • 2
The Player Bonus side bet is by far the strongest in terms of RTP, and we highly recommend it over the other options.

Payouts & RTP

The Player bet in baccarat has a slightly lower chance of winning compared to the Banker bet because of the rules regarding the third card. To balance this, a 5% commission is applied to all winning Banker bets, resulting in a payout of 0.95:1.

The Tie bet pays its usual 8:1, which is standard for the industry but generally quite poor in terms of RTP. We suggest avoid making Tie bets in baccarat games due to their low RTP.

The remaining wagers pay according to the table below.

Bet Payout RTP
Main Bet
Player 1:1 98.76%
Banker 0.95:1 98.94%
Tie 8:1 85.64%
Side Bets
Player Pair 11:1 89.64%
Banker Pair 11:1 89.64%
Either Pair 5:1 86.29%
Perfect Pairs 25:1 (200:1 for two pairs) 91.95%
Player/Banker Bonus
Natural Win 1:1 97.35%/90.63%
Natural Tie Push
Win by 9 30:1
Win by 8 10:1
Win by 7 6:1
Win by 6 4:1
Win by 5 2:1
Win by 4 1:!

The highest possible RTP in Lotus Speed Baccarat Live is 98.94%, which can only be achieved through a Banker main bet. Player bets are not far behind, though, so they’re still a viable option. Unfortunately, though, the same can’t be said about the other options. The only side bet really worth considering is Player Bonus thanks to its 97.35%. All of the other wagers on offer offer very poor returns, especially in the long term. Check out our guide to RTP in live casino games if you’re not sure what we’re talking about.

Our Verdict

As we’ve come to expect from OnAir, Lotus Speed Baccarat is a solid game and a top-notch pick for anyone looking to play classic baccarat online. It checks all of the big boxes – good or bad – which places it as at least equal with other tables of this type.

However, it’s important to understand what this game is and what it isn’t. It isn’t some revolutionary, innovative new way to play live baccarat because it doesn’t try to be. Despite the fancy name, it only ever sets out to offer classic baccarat, and that’s exactly what it does. The usual strengths of baccarat, namely its simplicity, high RTP, and fast action, are all highlighted. However, so are its usual weaknesses, such as poor side bet RTP.

With all that in mind, we can safely recommend OnAir Lotus Speed baccarat. You probably won’t notice a big difference compared to other such games you played in the past, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
