Originally, Matka is a betting game dating back to the 1940s. It involved generating numbers based on the market price movements of cotton on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Since then, it evolved into something closer to a kind of lottery. Random numbers are drawn using an earthen bowl and a ladle while players try to predict which three numbers will be the result.
Ezugi’s live casino version of the game is only the second attempt to bring this type of gambling game to the live dealer format. The only other example is Satta Matka by Betgames, which replaces the bowl and balls with standard playing cards. Betgames also expanded on the concept by adding various types of side bets and extra options.
In contrast, Ezugi Marka Live sticks very close to the original concept of the game, featuring the bowl, ladle, and other traditional elements. It offers only a single bet, which results in a faster pace and overall dynamic playing experience.
With all that in mind, Ezugi’s release is certainly an interesting addition to live online casinos. It’s certainly one of the most accessible ways to play Matka online for real money while also being a relatively unique product that you won’t find with other software providers. However, it also suffers from issues that are common in Indian-style betting games, such as a relatively low RTP.

Every round begins with a betting period that lasts for around 15 seconds. During this time, you’re expected to place your bets and pick your numbers.

Once the betting period ends, the dealer will draw their own set of three numbers.
This process starts with the bowl spinning to mix the balls and ensure a random outcome.
The dealer will then pick up the label and use it to scoop up three numbered balls from the bowl. The bowl is slightly tilted and placed away from the dealer so that they can’t see which numbers they’re picking out.
The balls are then placed on a tray next to the bowl, and the numbers are compared to your selections to determine the results.
There are exactly three ways to win in Matka Live based on how many of your selected numbers match the ones that were drawn from the bowl. You need at least two matching numbers to get a payout, but there are different ways to win.
Note that a single player bet cannot win more than once. If your selections and your sum total match the dealer’s, only the matching numbers will pay.

Put bluntly, there is no real strategy to win Matka or meaningfully increase your chances of success. The game is completely based on luck by design. It’s meant to be simple and fun while offering some interactivity through the number picking.
All 10 numbers in the bowl theoretically have the same chance of being picked. As such, no number or combination of numbers is better than another one. You should just go with your gut or pick the same numbers in every round.
Of course, you should still employ general casino strategies such as money management. This will protect you from losing more than you’re willing to and ensure your bankroll lasts as long as possible, which is important for a game with such low RTP.

Looking at these stats reveals some of the issues with Matka and why its RTP is so low. In a vacuum, betting on an outcome with less than a 1% chance of winning for a relatively low payout of 8:1 sounds like a terrible idea.

Let’s start with the good. This is by far the most authentic example of the Matka betting game we’ve seen in a live casino setting. It’s a breath of fresh air on the market, and many players will certainly enjoy its straightforward gameplay.
Additionally, the game of Matka holds sentimental value for many players from India, and we have no doubt that the game will reach some level of popularity with live casinos in India. Ezugi’s attention to detail and overall design of the game and studio go a long way in making it feel authentic to play.
However, once you actually start playing, you’ll quickly feel the effects of the game’s math model, which is simply not very player-friendly. The low RTP, combined with the low payouts, makes it feel like the only outcome of Matka is slowly watching your bankroll go down. This is technically true for every casino game – they all have a built-in house advantage. However, in this case, the low RTP has a very real and tangible effect on how the game feels to play.
As such, we can’t really recommend Ezugi’s Matka Live unless you just want to try something new or are already a big fan of Matka. A few changes to the paytable might make it more worthwhile, but it’s a difficult game to enjoy in the long run.
