When Pragmatic Play first announced Mega Sic Bac, we figured it was going to be a bit of a ripoff of Evolution’s Bac Bo from 2021. In theory, the two games are very similar. They combine baccarat and sic bo, replacing baccarat’s cards with a set of four dice. Thankfully, Pragmatic proved us wrong as soon as Mega Sic Bac was actually released.
On a surface level, Mega Sic Bac is more similar to something like hi-lo or even Dragon Tiger. Unlike baccarat, there’s no specific target value you want to hit. You’re just looking to predict which set of dice will show a higher result. It’s nice and simple, so even complete beginners can quickly get the hang of it.
However, Sic Bac elevates the whole experience with several important additions. First of all, the word ‘Mega’ in the title is not just for show. It means that the game’s payouts can be enhanced by random win multipliers, much like in Mega Roulette or Mega Baccarat. It’s a tried-and-true feature that adds an extra layer of excitement by making the game more volatile.
Secondly, Pragmatic also threw in a few side bets. These are mostly about predicting the actual results shown on the dice. Namely, you can predict doubles, triples, and even Quad results. This may seem like a minor addition, but the side bets are fun enough that you can even play them exclusively without ever touching the main wagers. Additionally, they bring the game closer to actual Sic Bo, which makes Sic Bac more attractive to fans of the classic Asian game.
If you want to know more about how this all fits together and why it works so well, keep reading our review. We’ll go through the game’s rules in detail and show you how to get the most out of the game.
One of the main selling points of this game is the fact that it’s so simple. Let’s go through the basic rules of Mega Sic Bac and explain how everything works.
As always, every round starts with a betting period. During this time, players can place bets on Player, Banker, Tie, or one of the many side bets. Once the betting period ends, the presenter rolls the dice using four separate dice shakers. The dice reveal their results alternating between the two sides, which adds to the excitement.
The dice are divided into two pairs – the blue Player side and the red Banker side. Each side adds up the results of its respective dice. The side with the higher total dice value wins.
As you may have guessed, the goal of Mega Sic Bac is to predict which of these two sides will win the next round. For example, if you bet on Player and the blue Player dice get a higher point total, you win. Conversely, if the Banker side wins, your Player bet loses. Both Player and Banker bets pay 1:1, doubling your stake if you win.
If the two sides show an identical result, the round is considered a Tie. You can also predict this outcome using the Tie bet, which pays 6:1. All Player and Banker bets lose if the outcome of the round is a Tie.
Simple, right? Well, we’re not done yet. There’s a lot more to Sic Bac than just these few bets.
Mega Sic Bac side bets include several types of alternative wagers you can use in conjunction with the main bets. Interestingly, you don’t need to play a main bet to place a side bet. If you prefer the side wagers for whatever reason, you can play them exclusively.
There are three types of side bets – Doubles, Triples, and Quads. The names are fairly self-explanatory if you’re familiar with how Sic Bo works, because they’re pretty much taken directly from that game. Also, the bets are largely similar to each other, so we’ll explain them by using Doubles as an example.
Doubles win if two of the four dice show the same result. For example, if you bet on Double 3s, you win 6:1 if any two dice on the table show 3 pips. Both Player and Banker dice contribute towards side bets in Mega Sic Bac, so it doesn’t matter which dice end up with the relevant result.
Alternatively, you can bet on Any Double. As the name implies, the Any Double bet wins if any two dice show any identical result. This bet can win with two 3s, two 5s, two 6s – you get the gist. It’s much more likely to win than a specific Double, but it also pays less with 0.5:1.
Triples and Any Triples are pretty much the same, but you need three dice to show the same result. Quads require all four dice to show the same number of pips, which means Quads are the riskiest option of the bunch.
After the betting period ends, one or more bets are randomly selected for Mega Multipliers. These multipliers increase the payout of any bet they’re applied to.
How much the payout is increased depends on the type of bet that was selected. Player and Banker bets can be increased up to 5:1, while Tie bets can go up to 88:1.
Side bets can also be boosted this way. In fact, Mega Multipliers end up boosting side bets in most rounds because there are a lot more of them than main bets.
You can find the maximum boosted payout for every type of wager in Mega Sic Bac in the next section of this review.
The Mega Sic Bac casino game offers varied payouts based on the type of bet you choose to play. The Player and Banker main wagers pay even money, which makes them very accessible.
Like in most gambling games, the reward for every wager is severely proportional to how likely it is to win. Extremely risky bets such as Quads pay the most, but they’re proportionally more difficult to get right.
Check out the table below to find out every payout in Mega Sic Bo, including the side bets. The table also shows the maximum possible payout after Mega Multipliers have been applied. We’ve also thrown in a comparative list of every bet’s RTP rate.
Bet | Base Payout | Maximum Mega Payout | RTP |
---|---|---|---|
Main Bets | |||
Player | 1:1 | 5:1 | 98.26% |
Banker | 1:1 | 5:1 | 98.26% |
Tie | 6:1 | 88:1 | 97.54% |
Side Bets | |||
Doubles | 6:1 | 88:1 | 96.53% |
Any Double | 0.5:1 | 3:1 | 97.02% |
Triples | 50:1 | 888:1 | 95.56% |
Any Triple | 8:1 | 88:1 | 96.54% |
Quads | 1,000:1 | 5,000:1 | 95.11% |
Any Quad | 150:1 | 888:1 | 95.51% |
The optimal RTP in Mega Sic Bac by Pragmatic Play is 98.26%. In this case, this only applies to the Player and Banker main bets. The remaining options have varying return-to-player rates, as shown on the table below.
Generally, the RTP in this game is surprisingly consistent. This is in stark contrast to baccarat, where betting on a Tie is a horrible idea. That said, the side bets trail behind the main ones. As a general rule of thumb, the riskier the bet is, the worse its RTP seems to be.

The multipliers and side bets in this game are its most notable game features, and we’ve already explained how they work. However, the game also boasts a few UI features we should mention.
The interface is shared with all other Pragmatic Play titles. This means you’ll find most options and settings in the upper right corner. This includes a detailed bet history, customer support, and access to the Pragmatic lobby. You can also change video quality, audio levels, and a few other aspects of the game.
The live chat feature is a staple of all live casino games. You’ll also find it in the upper right corner.
Last but not least, the interface also shows roadmaps and result statistics for the past 100 rounds or so. You can find in the lower left corner, right next to the main betting positions. Although these Mega Sic Bac stats can’t help you predict future outcomes, they offer insight into the game’s probabilities.
