Race Track Live: Our Review, How and Where to Play

!DISCLOSURE
Evolution by Evolution

Race Track Live is an online casino game released by Evolution in 2025 that allows players to bet on the results of a simulated horse race. Despite having the word “live” in its title, the game is not a live dealer game in the traditional sense because all of the outcomes are determined purely by RNG. However, the gameplay is accompanied by live commentary from a presenter, which is the only “live” part of the whole experience.

This seems to be Evolution’s latest attempt to combine elements of live casino games with purely RNG game mechanics. As such, it’s a very simple and repetitive game with no room for strategy or experimentation. You just pick a horse and hope for the best. The fact that the results are determined by computer generation takes away a lot of the excitement, too. As such, there’s not much here that will be of interest to fans of live casinos.

In this review, we’ll explain how the Race Track casino game works. We’ll also examine the game’s various features and the kind of experience it offers to players. We’ll then rate the game based on our time with it and consider the kinds of players who might find this Evolution title interesting.

Race Track Live is one of a relatively recent line of RNG-powered games that Evolution has been experimenting with. Most of these experiments are basically live casino slots, such as Balloon Race and Crazy Pachinko. Others, such as the unique Stock Market game from 2023, are unique products that don’t fit any traditional live casino game categories. However, all of them have the same idea: they take a fully RNG-powered betting game such as a slot machine or a Crash game and add bits and pieces borrowed from live casino games.

In some cases, these live elements can be quite interesting. For instance, in Crazy Pachinko, triggering a bonus round takes you to a real live casino studio with a large money wheel that’s used to determine the results. However, most other attempts at these hybrid games simply slap on a presenter to comment on the action and call the game “live.”Sadly, it seems that Race Track is one of the latter.

The presenters are there to adds some color, and the game’s interesting retro design will definitely appeal to fans of old video games. However, these surface features can’t really conceal that there’s simply not much going on in the Evolution Race Track. You pick one of several betting options where some are riskier than others but pay more. You watch the game as it tells you the winners. Rince and repeat.

As such, Race Track will probably be more appealing to fans of slots than games like roulette or blackjack. Of course, most slots are much more varied and packed with features and gameplay elements, which makes it even more difficult to see the appeal of Race Track Live.

How to Play Race Track Live

The gameplay of Race Track Live boils down to a simple guessing game. It starts with a betting period during which players are presented with 6 options. Each betting option corresponds to a single horse.

Horses are ranked based on their chances of winning. The more likely the horse is to win, the smaller the payout you win if you bet on it. Conversely, horses with longer odds are substantially less likely to win but offer more value in terms of payouts.

There are 50 horses in total in Race Track Live, and each of them has fixed odds. That means that they have the same chances of winning and the same payout in every race, no matter who they’re racing against. They’re vaguely divided into three types:

  • 14 Strong Runners, who are favourites and offer odds ranging from 1:1 to 3:1
  • 17 Average Runners, who have a low chance to win but pay between 4:1 and 15:1
  • 19 Outsiders, who are extremely unlikely to win but pay between 17:1 and 89:1

Betting Phase

In every round, two runners of each type are randomly selected to participate in the race. The horses are then arranged in six lanes, going from strongest to weakest. That means that the horse in lane 1 is always the strongest participating runner with the highest chance of winning, while the horse in lane 6 is always the least likely to win.

Each of these six lanes acts as a betting position in the current round. To make a bet, simply select the size of your stake and click on the betting position that corresponds to the horse you wish to bet on.

You can bet on one, several, or all of the betting positions in the same round. You have around 12 seconds to place bets before the round kicks off, which is plenty of time given the simple nature of the wagers.

Racing Phase

Once the betting period ends, the race kicks off. Results are basically determined as soon as it starts, but Race Track simulates a little race involving the horses. There’s not much to do during the race except sit back and cheer for your favorite horse. The presenter provides some live commentary as the action unfolds, but that’s pretty much their only job.

Once the round ends, the winner is revealed. Only bets on the winning horse pay based on the fixed odds for that particular horse. Unlike real sports betting, you can’t try to predict second-place winners or other outcomes.

Step-by-Step Guide

Race Track Live is a really simple game, but we’ll summarize our guide with a simple step-by-step process.

  • Step 1: Wait for the betting period to begin
  • Step 2: Select 1-6 horses from a pool of 6 options.
  • Step 3: Consider the odds of every horse. The more likely a horse is to win the race, the less you’ll win with a winning bet.
  • Step 4: Wait for the race to end
  • Step 5: Collect your winnings

The simple gameplay gives Race Track a relatively fast pace. Rounds don’t last too long, so you don’t have to worry too much if you miss a betting period.

Bet Race Live vs. Dinosaur Race – What’s the Difference?

The game appears in several variants depending on where you live. This seems to be a regulatory issue, so some players may not have access to the same versions as others.

The main variant of Race Track Live is simply called Dinosaur Race. The only real difference between the two games is that horses are replaced by little dinosaurs.

Additionally, the game may also appear in a purely RNG variant with no presenter. This doesn’t change any of the gameplay because the results are determined by RNG either way. Just don’t be confused if you see an Evolution game called Dinosaur Race with no hosts – it’s still the same game, minus the extra engagement provided by the presenters.

Race Track Live Strategy

First of all, it’s important to understand that Race Track is completely based on luck. No amount of strategy will increase your chances of winning because players can’t affect the outcome in any way. It’s all down to chance.

With that in mind, it’s extremely important to manage your bankroll. Our advice is to split your total bankroll into equal portions or “units.” This will allow you to more easily divide it into multiple bets as well as track wins, losses, and overall results.

The reason we’re highlighting money management is that you’ll definitely want to place multiple bets per round. Although repeatedly betting on favourites gives you the best chances of winning, it also means that you’ll never really manage to make a big profit with a bet either. On the other hand, only betting on outsiders is a quick way to burn through your bankroll without any actual profits.

The answer is to hedge your bets. Combine high-odds bets with low-odds bets. The high-probability wagers are able to keep your bankroll topped up as you hope for a bigger wager to win.

The simplest way to do this is to bet on three selections in every round:

  • 1 Strong Runner – These bets will pay between 1:1 and 3:1, which is enough to break even or simply minimize your losses
  • 1 Average Runner – Average runners win every now and then, allowing you a slow but steady trickle of profits.
  • 1 Outsider – Your ultimate goal is for an outsider to win a big payout. However, even if they don’t, your losses should still be minimal thanks to the other two selections.

This strategy also gives you a solid 50% baseline chance to win because you’re betting on 3 out of the 6 available horses. Of course, the real probability is much different once you account for odds, but you should still have winning bets all the time.

You can adjust this strategy based on how volatile you want it to be. For example, placing 2 units on the Strong Runner will make the overall combination of bets less volatile. Conversely, betting more units on Outsiders will decrease your per-round returns but may result in bigger wins if you get lucky.

Common Mistakes

Thanks to Race Track’s unique concept, rumours and myths are already circulating about how to tackle the game best. As such, we should probably address some of these mistakes.

  • Different horses have different characteristics which make them more likely to win certain races – Evolution’s marketing material seems to imply as much, but it’s simply not true. The only thing that matters about every horse is its odds, which determine how likely the horse is to win as well.
  • The Tipster view highlights the most high-value bets – Although this is technically true, it highlights the most valuable bets that you could have made in the previous 100 rounds. As we all know, however, previous results do not affect future results in any way.
  • Betting on all 6 horses is a viable strategy – Although this approach might seem like a good idea, the reality is that Strong Runners will win more than 70% of all races. This means that most rounds would be a net loss, which would quickly drain your bankroll.

Betting Options and Payouts

The payout of any bet in Race Track Live depends on the horse it’s tied to. Stronger runners pay less, as you would expect.

Interestingly, every horse always pays the same in every round, no matter the other runners. This is odd because the chances of any horse winning should vary depending on which horses it’s up against. We’re not really sure how Evolution’s math model handles this in the background. Perhaps the horses are only raced in particular combinations, ensuring their combined probability of winning always adds up to exactly 100%.

Either way, the odds imply that every horse has a fixed probability of winning in every round. We’ve calculated this probability for every runner, and you’ll find the results in the table below.

Importantly, the probabilities presented in the table do not account for the 4% house advantage on every bet. The house advantage means that every horse is actually slightly less likely to win than the odds are implying. However, taking that into account would result in strange probabilities and decimals, so we decided to ignore it for the sake of clarity.

Horse Payout Implied Probability
Strong Runners
Aurora, Petal, Cream. Moom, Bonbon 1:1 50%
Even, Odd, Peach, Honey, Flower, Pancake, Lover, Rudolf 2:1 33.33%
Lightning, The Beeb 3:1 25%

Reckless 69:1 1.43%
Cash Hunt 71:1 1.39%
Blaze 83:1 1.19%
Moon Shot 89:1 1.11%

Note that only 6 of these betting options will be available in every round – 2 horses of each type. For example, a round in which Aurora and Lightning are racing will only have 1:1 and 2:1 options for Strong Runners. In that round, you would be unable to bet on a horse with 2:1 odds.

Race Track Live RTP & House Edge

According to Evolution’s information, every bet in the Race Track Live game has an RTP rate of exactly 96%. This translates into a 4% house advantage regardless of your bet.

96% RTP is about average for online slots. However, it can be considered very low by live casino game standards. For reference, European Roulette has an RTP of 97.30%, while live blackjack games can reach up to 99.50%. Even most casino game shows tend to go above 96%.

In other words, the RTP of Race Track Live is relatively poor. This means your long-term returns will be considerably lower, especially in the long term.

New to the Live Race Track game?

Interface & Usability

The game’s user interface was made to fit its overall visual theme, which seems to resemble an old TV. The betting options are lined up at the bottom, displaying the name of every participating horse as well as the associated odds. It’s a straightforward interface for a straightforward game, so we can’t complain.

The menu at the top contains all of the usual UI elements such as menus, help screens, the live chat, and so on.

However, the top right corner also contains a unique feature called Tipster mode.

Tipster Mode

Tipster mode presents you with some statistical information you can use to base your bets on. It highlights how the current round’s runners performed in the past 100 races they ran. Specifically, it lists the RTP of betting on that horse during the past 100 rounds. This informs you on which runners performed better than they were expected to. The horse with the best overall performance and bet RTP is highlighted as the “Tipster’s Choice.”

However, the issue is that even a single win from an Outsider horse is enough to propel its stats into the stratosphere. That’s because the expected value of highly volatile bets such as Outsider runners has a lot of highs and lows – that’s why it’s volatile in the first place. As a result, Outsiders with the longest odds tend to constantly be the Tipster’s Choice even though their chances of winning are extremely low.

Just remember that previous performances of runners in Race Track Live do not affect their chances of winning in any way. The whole thing is completely run by RNG, so don’t fall for the Gambler’s Fallacy.

Graphics & Presentation

Evolution’s Race Track game is designed to look like it’s presented from an old TV set. The main screen is where you’ll see the race action while the betting positions look like buttons.

The horse race itself has retro pixel-art graphics and looks like an old video game. Combined with the whole TV thing, it all looks like you’re playing a game on a retro console like a SNES. Personally, the whole thing made this reviewer feel quite nostalgic, but that may not translate if you’re simply not familiar with retro video games.

However, the way the presenter screen, UI, and gameplay fit together seems like Evolution didn’t really give it their best. They didn’t, of course – the game is meant to be a unique, niche experience, and not to compete with Evo’s other major live releases. It’s not like Race Track is trying to convince you that it’s a live casino game. However, the result is that you just feel like you’re playing some sort of B-list product, which is just not a good feeling.

Live Dealer Experience

Lie Stock Market before it, the Race Track is an RNG game with a small presenter screen. The presenter’s job is to provide commentary and engage the players, but they don’t actually run any of the game’s mechanics or systems. This style of presentation is something of a hybrid between live casino games and RNG experiences such as slots.

This leaves a strange sort of impression where the presenter feels completely disconnected from the gameplay. We suspect it’s because there is no studio or complex camera work like we’re used to seeing with high-end live casino games. Either way, we can’t say that we’re big fans of the overall experience. While the dealer does improve it by adding some color, sometimes their presence just seems to highlight how fundamentally boring the gameplay is.

Languages

  • Currently, the only available Bet Stacker Blackjack tables are presented entirely in English.
  • However, the options menu allows you to change the language of in-game text. Language options include English, Arabic, Albanian, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and more.

Our Verdict of Race Track Live

After spending a good deal of time with Race Track live, our impressions are lukewarm at best. It simply doesn’t feel all that interesting to play, and all of the rounds start feeling the same after a while. While the odds system makes each race statistically unique, it doesn’t actually change the gameplay experience.

Race Track looks unique and offers gameplay you won’t find anywhere else, so we have to give Evolution points for creativity. However, once you scratch beneath the surface, you’ll quickly realize that it’s all quite shallow. It’s a fresh idea, sure, but it might have needed more time to develop.

This sense of an undercooked idea is evident in other aspects of Race Track as well. For instance, the Tipster screen is fun on paper, but its execution leaves it a bit pointless.

Lastly, the poor overall RTP means that Race Track is probably not worth your time even if you just want to experiment a bit. Stock Market Live at least boasts 99% RTP, even if its gameplay is similarly lacking.

That said, we have to note something important – we’re clearly not the intended audience for Race Track. The game will appeal to fans of slots and other RNG games who want to add a social element to their game via the presenter and the live chat. As fans of live casino games, we were bound to be unimpressed by a game that’s not actually live.

As for our rating, we can’t really call Race Track a “bad game.” It’s fresh and it delivers what it set out to do. However, we probably won’t be returning to it, and we doubt many live dealer fans will have a good time with it.

How We Rate Live Casino Games

Our game reviews and ratings are based on a strict set of standards. These standards were developed over many years of playing and analyzing live dealer games of all sorts. Here are some of the key factors we consider before giving our recommendation:

  • Graphics & Stream Quality – Although visuals are not the most important factor, they certainly matter. Good-looking games create a better and more immersive atmosphere. Moreover, the game’s graphics can set it apart from the competition.
  • UI and User-Friendliness – Well-designed games have intuitive interfaces that are easy to use and access. Our reviews also consider any additional UI elements such as betting options, performance settings, stats and histories, and more.
  • Payouts & RTP – How much your bets win is crucial for determining a casino game’s quality. A higher RTP is always better for us as players, making RTP one of the most objective ways to rate how good a particular game is.
  • Gameplay – This refers to how the game actually plays – whether it’s exciting, fun, engaging, and whether we’ve actually enjoyed playing it. This is extremely important for unique products such as Race Track Live.
  • Extra Features – This refers to any added features such as additional bonuses or UI elements.
  • Platform compatibility – We also rate how well a game performs on mobile devices, apps, etc.
  • Localization and Native-speaking Tables – Games with a lot of language options are more accessible to international audiences, which is why we consider such features as well.
