Evolution’s Lightning Roulette is a sensation in the live dealer gambling world which continues to be one of the most-played online roulette games 5 years after it was first launched. It has since earned sequels, variants, and inspired spin-offs such as Lightning Blackjack, Lightning Baccarat, and even Lightning Dice. Roulette remains the most popular title in the collection, though, so Evolution tried to bring it closer to wider audiences.
Ruleta Relámpago is the official Spanish-speaking version of the game. Naturally, the only real difference from the original is the fact that the presenters speak in Spanish. If you’re familiar with how Lightning Roulette works, you won’t find too many surprises in this review. Ruleta Relámpago uses an identical studio and the same spectacular presentation that makes the game so popular.
However, the Spanish-speaking version also became big enough to warrant its own review from our end.
The majority of moves you can make in this game are identical to standard live dealer online roulette. As always, your goal is to predict on which number the ball will land on after the dealer throws it into a spinning wheel. Ruleta Relámpago switches things up only if you bet on a single number, which is often called a Straight Up bet.
We’ll walk you through the process of a single round to ensure you completely understand what’s going on.
Every round starts with a betting period during which you’re supposed to make your move. You can use the chips on the interface to decide the size of your stake.
Then, place the chips on the betting table to make a wager. Most of these are standard roulette bets. They cover anywhere between 1 and 18 numbers and offer rewards based on how risky they are. The only real difference from standard live roulette tables is that Straight-up, single-number bets pay less than usual because of the Lightning Round mechanics explained below.
You can make any number of bets you want before the 18-second betting window is over.
Once the betting period is over, the presenter will pull a lever and between 1 and 5 numbers will be struck by lightning. These Lightning Numbers have a random multiplier applied to them, ranging from 50x to 500x.
Lightning numbers pay the displayed amount instead of their usual payout. However, this only applies to bets made on that number and that number only (Straight Up bets.)
For example, lets say 12 is a Lightning Number with a 150x multiplier. If you bet on 12 with a Straight Up bet and won, you would receive 150 times your stake instead of the base 30x. However, if you just bet on Red, you would only win the usual 2x.
At this point, the wheel should already be spinning with the ball inside it. It will eventually settle into a single section of the wheel, marked by a number.
Any bets placed by you that cover this number will win a payout based on the Ruleta Relámpago paytable. All other wagers lose
Ruleta Relámpago payouts are mostly identical to industry-standard rates, except for the obvious exception of multipliers. Single-number bets have a chance for massive wins going up to 500x, but Evolution had to balance that idea somehow. As such, Straight Up wagers have a base payout of just 29:1 compared to the standard 35:1. The idea of Lightning Roulette is to hopefully win big through rare but exciting multipliers.

All in all, Ruleta Relámpago en Vivo RTP is 97.30% for the majority of betting options. Due to the increased volatility and different pay structure, Straight Up bets have an RTP of 97.10%.

As you might imagine, the most important special feature of this game is the Lightniing Round. We’ve already covered how it works in the how-to guide, so we’ll focus on a few other parts of the interface.
First of all, this game still allows you to use the race track view for additional betting options. However, you should be aware that many sector bets like Orphelins include multiple Straight-Up bets. Keep this in mind when considering your Lightning Roulette strategy. Combining multiple bets is generally a good idea in this game, and using sector bets to do so is one way of doing that.
Moreover, the lower right part of the screen contains handy info such as stats and previous results. It also includes Lightning Numbers, which is a nice indication of how often big multiplier wins actually happen.
Last but not least, Ruleta Relámpago en Vivo features a settings menu. You can use it to adjust audio levels and video quality
