Pragmatic Play’s Super 8 Baccarat game is one of the latest additions to their comprehensive baccarat portfolio. Although it’s not hugely innovative, it still bears all the quality we’ve come to expect from this software provider. Specifically, the modern UI and top-notch stream are up there with the best the industry has to offer.
That said, don’t expect this game to be some innovative experience. The name – Super 8 Baccarat – merely refers to one of the several available side bets. In fact, everything else in the game works exactly like on any other baccarat table with a 5% commission on Banker bets. This makes the game quite similar to Fortune 6 Baccarat, another Pragmatic release from 2022.
You may be wondering whether a single side bet is really worth all the fuss of releasing a new game. And you’re probably right – they could have just stuck all of these side bets onto one side-betting mega table. As it stands, most Pragmatic Play live baccarat games look very similar, with only slight variations in side bets.

If you’re already familiar with the basic rules of baccarat, you already know how to play Super 8 Baccarat. We’ll still give a short overview of how the game works, just in case.
The objective of baccarat is simple. The dealer will place 2 cards onto 2 card piles each – the Player and Banker. Your goal is to accurately predict which of these two hands will have a total score closer to 9. If you guess correctly, you win a 1:1 payout.
There are some things to keep in mind, though. Only the last digit of any score total counts. So, for example, a score of 14 is actually a 4.
Furthermore, all cards with a value of 10 or more count as 10 – which is to say 0.
Importantly, a third card can be given to one or both of these two hands. That depends on the score of the first two cards and how they compare to each other. You can read our guide to the third card rule in baccarat for more info.
Due to the way the third card rule works, Banker bets have a slight advantage. That’s why a 5% commission is charged on all Banker bets.
To play Super 8 Baccarat live, just open the game and use the interface to place bets. Click on the chips to determine the size of your stake, and then click on the bet you want to make. Besides Player and Banker, you can bet on a tie (though we don’t ever recommend it.) You can also choose between 7 side betting options.
The payouts for the main game are predictably standard – even money for Player and Banker, minus the 5% commission on Banker wins. Ties pay the usual 8:1 as well.

Like any good baccarat game, Super 8 Baccarat features multiple roadmaps to the left and right of the player. These are used to track results, and they note any patterns and hot/cold numbers. Super 8 Baccarat is another all-around good baccarat game that’s hard to really get excited about. The side bets are kind of unique if we compare them to the competition, but that’s pretty much it.
Essentially, fans of Pragmatic Play games have to decide whether to pick this variant of Fortune 6. Both are almost identical, but both contain a long list of unique side bets. We suggest reading our reviews for both games and deciding for yourself.
Overall, Super 8 Baccarat has solid RTP with a large win potential on some side bets. However, Fortune 6 side bets are overall better in terms of RTP but lack the creativity and win potential of Super 8.
Looks like another good release from Pragmatic Play, though it might fly under the radar for all but the most devoted of Baccarat fans.
