In 2024, the Bet365 online casino cooperated with software provider Playtech to create a unique casino product. The result is a game show that introduced interesting new features and options while remaining true to many common traits of the live casino game show ‘genre’. The game’s release seems like a savvy move from Bet365 considering the ever-increasing popularity of game shows. Moreover, Playtech was a natural pick for a custom-made home show, seeing how its portfolio already offers multiple hugely successful titles.
At its heart, Super Mega Ultra from Playtech is a simple ‘money wheel’ game. The wheel is horizontal instead of in its usual vertical position, but that has no real impact on gameplay. In fact, it’s an approach we’ve seen in earlier games such as OnAir Entertainment’s Travel Fever. Either way, this means that the game uses a large prize wheel to determine the outcome of every round – something like the famous TV game show Wheel of Fortune. It’s a tried-and-true approach to designing games like these, which has proven to be a fan-favourite through success stories like Crazy Time, Adventures Beyond Wonderland, or Sweet Bonanza Candyland.
Similarly to many of these games, the bet365 Super Mega Ultra exclusive features a colorful theme and flashy presentation focused on entertainment. Naturally, it also boasts a few bonus rounds that can make or break a game show, and we were excited to see what Playtech cooked up. The most interesting feature by far is the second prize wheel, and it’s unlike anything we’ve seen beofre.
The gist of Super Mega Ultra Live is simple the presenter spins a big wheel divided into 54 segments. Players wager which segment of the wheel will stop on the pointer after the wheel stops spinning. It’s kind of roulette in that regard, but there are some crucial differences in how the bets work. The game also features a second, smaller wheel with 27 segments that is only active during Ultra spins. We’ll explain how all that works later.
For now, we’ll explain how the basic bets in Super Mega Ultra work. The fruit and gold segments make up most of the wheel, and they’re the simplest as well. If you make one of these bets and the pointer lands on the corresponding segment, you win a fixed instant payout. Your options include:
Arguably the most unique feature of this game is the Super Mega Ultra Level-up feature.
Five segments of the wheel contain Level Ups. If the pointer lands on one of these segments, you don’t win immediately. Instead, all payouts are increased across the board and the wheel spins again. This first re-spin is called the Mega round. If the second spin lands on a regular symbol or bonus round, the bets are settled as usual (except they have increased rewards, which also applies to the bonus rounds.)
However, if the pointer lands on a Level Up segment again, the payouts are increased yet again. This second Level Up results in an Ultra Round.
If you’re lucky enough to reach the Ultra round, a special 27-segment wheel is used instead of the regular wheel. It contains no Level Up segments, but it also holds the highest payouts in Super Mega Ultra Live.
The Ultra wheel contains 10 Cherries, 6 Grapes, 4 Lemons, 3 Watermelons, two gold symbols, and 1 Bons Round each. However, each type of symbol on the Ultra wheel appears in several versions, each with a different payout. In other words, the Ultra Round adds a range of possible payouts for every type of bet.
Bonus rounds are a beloved feature of every game show, and this one is no different. The game offers two of them in total:
To participate, you have to place a wager on one or both of the bonus bets and then have the pointer land on the corresponding segment. All players with active bets on the winning bonus round round get to participate.
The Slot Spins bonus round appears on two segments of the normal wheel and 1 segment of the Ultra wheel.
As the name implies, Slot Spins takes you to a simple 4×4 slot machine. Each participating player gets 7 spins of the slot, which automatically starts spinning.
As per usual, you win if you make a line of three or more matching symbols. The payouts can vary greatly based on how many combinations you hit and of which symbols. However, activating this bonus round in a Mega Round doubles all payouts, while the Ultra version increases all rewards by 6 times.
There is no way to get additional spins of the slot. However, the game features Wild symbols which can substitute for any other type of symbol in the mini-game.

It kicks off with a 3×3 grid of symbols. Each symbol contains a multiplier value.
The symbols are then flipped over and shuffled, which means you don’t know which symbol contains which prize.
You then get to pick one symbol for the Super round, two for the Mega round, or Three during an Ultra round. The multipliers on the symbols you picked are revealed, added together, and paid out as a reward.
The four basic bets in Playtech’s Super Mega Ultra have a straightforward payout system. Each offers a fixed payout, roughly proportional to how hard the bet is to win. Bets that appear on more segments of the wheel pay less, and vice versa.
The higher the level of the round, the bigger these payouts are. The Super Round doubles all rewards, while the Ultra round has a range of possible payouts for every type of bet.

Although this game was developed specifically for the Bet365 online casino, it still enjoys the full complement of Playtech features. The Super Mega Ultra system of levelling up is a great idea for a game show. It’s simple, keeps the action moving, and adds a unique flavor to the whole game. It’s also unlike anything else we’ve seen in a game show up until this point, which is also something worth pointing out.
The only real complaint we have after our review is the payout structure. Only a single bonus round actually offers 96.90% RTP, and it’s a fairly risky one at that. The basic bets, which will account for more than 90% of all game results, are worse off than that.
The bonus rounds are a bit uninspired. However, they’re meant to be simple and bolstered by the centrepiece Level-up system, which is why we think Playtech made a good choice.
All in all, it’s hard to rank Super Mega Ultra as one of the best live casino game shows of all time, but it’s certainly a solid game.
